This is a unique and amazing opprotunity for several reasons.  The Brookside Inn B&B is a piece of Valdez and Alaskan history.  The main building was orginally built by the U.S. Army at Fort Liscum. The fort was responsible for saving gold seekers from the harsh Alaskan winters and surveying the Richardson Highway from Valdez to Fairbanks.  Which became the main transportation route into the interior of Alaska until World War II.  The house was moved to "Old Town Valdez" in 1908.  Surviving the largest recorded earthquake a 9.6 in 1964.  The house was relocated for the third time to its current location in 1968.

Brookside Inn B&B is located in an area that never fails to keep the life long locals stunned. The natural  beauty and ever changing views of light and terrain features of this rugged and gorgeous region, where the ocean meets the 3,500 foot extreme mountains of the Chugach Mountian Range.  Leaving every visitor and resident with an unique and unforgettable experience and yearning to explore as much as possible. 

Located  approximately, 2.5 miles from the town center of Valdez, Brookside Inn is located on a commercial / residential lot of 3.18 acres.  One acre undeveloped.  Neighbor to the East is the Valdez Airport. Which will never be developed due to state regulations.  Land behind the Brookside is currently owned by the DNR, Department of Natural Resource.  The property does contain an active flowing glacier fed stream from the mountains behind the property.  This stream thrives with a"Wild Pink Salmon" run in the summer. Which then attracts local black bear, bald eagles, and many curious out of state travelers.

The Brookside Inn B&B property consists of the Main House, a garage, two suite building, the Brookside towers (upstairs has a room for two twins and a private bath), three room storage building (no utilities) and 12x12 gazebo with hot tub.  Totaling 5,861 square feet of living and usable space.

Brookside Inn is set up to sleep 18 guests and sit 12 for breakfast.  The main house has four guest rooms each with a private bath.  In the front of the house is the sunroom with over looks the front yard and the salmon stream and has been viewing area for many black bear in the mornings. This opens up to the main portion of the house the living room and dinning area, which leads into the kitchen.  From the kitchen you access the private quarters which has a large living room, one small bedroom / office and a large master bedroom with walk-in closet and a full bathroom.  In the back of the house have an office or large mud room, utility area and a laundry room which holds two washer and dryers and a storage area.

The outside building consist of  one regular sized room with private bath and a large suite which can sleep five (5) if needed, or have extra room for small group or family.  This suite has a large two person jetted tub.

The property has been remodeled by us in the following order.  Complete new kitchen with corian counter tops and two ovens, five burner stove and lots of cabinets in May of 1999.  Private quarters of two bedrooms and full bath and living area in October of 2001.  Living room and dining room and stairway and foray in 2004. Complete remodel of all four guest bathrooms in main house in spring of 2007.

The business is currently in operation and taking reservation for the 2008 summer season. So far looking very good. Seasonly Brookside works with individual travelers driving the road system.  We contact with several tour groups through out the summer for multiple weeks.  During the winter and shoulder months we cater to business travelers, convention and special event goers.  Alaska spring Feb-April is scheduled to work with a variety of helicopter skiing company hosting skier from around the world. Wishing to experience the deep and steep chugach powder snow ranging from 300 inches in town to 500 inches on the summits.
