Scenery and recreation never stop in the Valdez and surrounding areas. The activities flow into each season and are spectacular year after year.

Summer Months are full of: 

• Fishing for Salmon, Halibut, Grayling, Rainbow trout, and many other species.
• Hiking trails to glaciers, waterfalls, breath taking beaches,  mountain tops, gold mines, and hiking on glaciers.
• Water activities are abundant with Whitewater rafting, kayaking, sea kayaking to glaciers and exploring coastal beaches.
• The mountains, sea, rivers and history keep you in awe as you take picture that do not give the site it's justice.
• Viewing wildlife, by sea, air or shore, the choices are many from spawning salmon, shore birds, sea otters, whales, puffins, sea lions, mountain goats and the mighty coastal brown bear.
• Activities range from extremely exciting adventures to soothing walks learning local history and what really happened to the Exxon Valdez Oil? You will have to come and find out?

Winter Months activities include:

• Snowmachining backcountry trials, Snow cross races, a200 mile race, Hill climb competitions, relaxing groomed trails or challenging backcountry terrain.
• World Class skiing and snowboarding on Thompson Pass. (Annual average snowfall of over 500 inches, that is over 42 feet of snow every year.) Choose between four Helicopter skiing and snow cat operators for ultimate powder and extreme conditions February - May.
